Hand & Grain / Studio & contact

Come and sit on the foams.

The studio is the workshop. There is no separate showroom, which means you can see the frame of the sofa you are about to order while it is still open, and watch a cover being cut on grain.

Request a studio appointment

Five fields, no more. It opens WhatsApp with your message already written — you press send, and we reply within one working day to confirm a time. The slot is held once we confirm it.

What to bring

  1. A floor plan, or the room's length and width
  2. Two or three photographs of the room in daylight
  3. Door and lift widths, if the piece has to turn a corner
  4. Any fabric or colour you already love
  5. A rough budget band — it saves a whole visit

No photograph and no plan? Come anyway. There are tape measures here, and a lot of fabric.

What happens next

We reply within one working day with a time and a name. If you send dimensions on WhatsApp before visiting, we will often have a drawing ready by the time you arrive — which turns a first visit into a decision.

02

What you can see in the studio

Not a showroom with three sofas and a coffee machine. A working workshop with a corner set aside for drawings and swatches.

01

Foam, at three firmnesses

Sit on the exact build you are ordering, not a demonstrator. Soft, medium and firm, in the same seat depth, one after the other.

02

The fabric books

Sixty weaves opened out on a table under daylight, so a cream that looked warm on your screen does not arrive cold.

03

A frame, cut open

Half a frame on the bench, unsheathed, so you can put a hand on the joint and see the corner block for yourself.

Prefer to talk? Call us.

If it is easier to say it out loud than to type it, call the studio. Somebody who builds the furniture answers, not a call centre.
